15/05/24 - Morning Shot: Change of a generation: A look-back at PM Lee's journey & what's next for Singapore?Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be stepping down today (15th May 2024) - after 20 years at the helm.
Persuaded to enter politics by then-Deputy Prime Minister Mr Goh Chok Tong, Mr Lee was elected as an MP in the 1984 elections. Mr Lee grew up under under the watchful gaze of Singapore’s founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Driven by an unwavering duty to serve Singapore and Singaporeans, the younger Mr Lee would spend the next 40 years in public service, twenty of which, leading the little red dot as its Prime Minister.
