Singapore’s Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said that during his recent ministerial statement in Parliament on the East-West Line train disruption that occurred from 25th to 30th September, in response to Workers’ Party Gerald Giam’s question on whether this incident and service levels can be taken into consideration in the Public Transport Council’s fare review exercise.

21/10/24 - Morning Shot: How well will Malaysia's Budget 2025 boost the country's finances?Top-earning Malaysians will soon be hit with higher expenses come next year, as the country’s government seeks to roll back on subsidies for RON95 petrol, education and healthcare, in a bid to free up monies for other purposes.
This comes as Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim unveiled Malaysia’s fifth consecutive record budget of RM421 billion (S$127.8 billion) on 18th October. The budget is also boosted by a RM13.5 billion increase, largely driven by salary revision bonuses that will raise civil servant pay for the first time in over a decade.
But how effective will these measures be in balancing the country’s fiscal position and boosting the economy?

18/10/24 - Climate Connections: Earth In Focus - Tapping On The Power Of Thought-Provoking Nature Films & Community For ConservationNature films tell the stories of the world's flora, fauna, and landscapes - often a journey into the secret lives of what exists around us. These stunning visual tales show us how we are interconnected with nature in many ways. This, in turn, allows us to better understand the current conversations about climate change, sustainability and biodiversity, and put us in a better position to be agents of hope and change.
That’s exactly what the inaugural ‘Earth in Focus’ Singapore Nature Film Festival 2024 hopes to achieve. Running from 1st to 3rd November this year, the festival will showcase local and international films, photography and ecological art exhibitions, as well as workshops run by conservation NGOs - covering a wide range of conservation topics, from ocean and land conservation to water scarcity and technology for conservation.
