04/07/24 - Morning Shot: Chinese Premier Li Qiang hits out at decouplingChinese Premier Li Qiang used his address at a World Economic Forum meeting in Dalian to hit back at accusations from the US and EU alleging that Chinese firms benefit from unfair subsidies and are poised to flood their markets with cheap green technologies. 03/07/24 - Breakfast Bites: "Useless" activities for kids... is there such a thing? If your child told you one day they want to pick up knitting, or work as a waiter in their spare time, would you be OK with it?
A recent Straits Times article titled, "Would you let your child take up an activity that is ‘useless’?" started a debate of sorts for parents. Just to define it, what they described as useless is a hobby or activity that would do nothing for the resume, it won’t help you learn any relevant skills or get you into a school.
Do you think there is such a thing as an activity you see no use for? Does happiness and enjoyment count for something? Audrey and Ryan discuss this on Breakfast Bites.

03/07/24 - Morning Shot: Israel talks of a new phase in the Gaza war. What does that mean?US President Joe Biden has urged Hamas to accept a new Israeli proposal to end the conflict in Gaza - one that would begin with a six-week ceasefire, more humanitarian aid, as well as an exchange of some hostages for Palestinian prisoners, with the deal eventually leading to a permanent "cessation of hostilities" and a major reconstruction plan for Gaza.
But, the next phase of Israel’s war on Hamas may shift focus to its northern border with Lebanon - as indicated by Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a recent television interview.
On this episode of Morning Shot, Dr Lincoln Mitchell, Professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs shares his analysis of the situation.
