A severe heatwave has swept across much of Asia this year, causing deaths and school closures in India and record-breaking temperatures in China In Singapore, the highest daily maximum temperature was 36.1 degrees Celsius, recorded at Woodlands on 14 April. This is a cause for concern especially for young people, who are increasingly more interested about sustainability and climate issues. A group of final year NTU students have come up with a campaign that aims to raise awareness about the harmful impact of fast furniture and promote sustainable furniture practices among young and new homeowners.
