Morning Shot: Once bitten, twice shy: is Singapore at risk of experiencing a dengue surge?
Dengue cases have been rising exponentially around the world, with over five million cases and 2,000 deaths since the start of the year.
Singapore has itself seen more than 5,000 dengue cases in the first quarter of 2024 - more than double that of the same period in 2023 - with seven deaths.
So are these statistics a cause for concern for the Little Red Dot? What steps can we take individually and collectively as a community to prevent the spread of dengue?
On this episode of Morning Shot, Leo Yee Sin, Professor, NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, shares her insights.
