Singapore’s Agri-tech Role Lies in SE Asia’s 71 Million Small Farms
The agriculture industry makes up over 10 per cent of our region’s gross domestic product, and is valued at over 620 billion US dollars annually. Over the last 2 months, the Grow Asia Hackathon held in Singapore and Jakarta attracted 132 participants from 15 teams in Singapore and 16 teams in Indonesia.The Hackathon centred around three main challenge areas – finance, drones & smart irrigation and traceability & sustainability. Paul Voutier is Director of Knowledge & Innovation at Grow Asia, a multi-stakeholder partnership platform that catalyzes action on inclusive agricultural development in South East Asia.
