Sustainable Singapore: Understanding the process of international climate negotiations.
The annual United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP25 has seen countries failing to agree on many of the hoped for outcomes, including rules to set up a global carbon trading system and a system to channel new finance to countries facing the impacts of climate change. Melissa Low, Research Fellow at Energy Studies Institute at NUS and Eric Bea, Research Assistant at NUS’s Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law talks about the main reason why a deal could not be made and the importance of partnership in climate change capacity building efforts.
