INSEAD research finds investors are not walking the talk of gender diversity
In Career 360, Howie Lim and Bernard Lim speak to Kaisa Snellman, Assistant Professor of Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD about a new study which suggests that more women on a company's board, more market value is lost, and one additional woman on the board results in a 2.3 per cent decrease in market value, which could amount to hundreds of millions of dollars.
The research suggests that despite proclamations of support, investors perceive companies which increase female representation on their board as having a weaker commitment to shareholder value and are likely to punish them accordingly.
