Industry Insights: Mobile app security in a 'scamdemic' era
Mobile users are keenly aware of the growing security, fraud and privacy threats when they use mobile apps. Nevertheless, cybercrime and online fraud are growing at an alarming rate, impacting millions across the globe. The so-called 'scamdemic' shows no signs of slowing down. The rising number of mobile users worldwide, projected to reach 6.3 billion by 2030, according to the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), poses a significant challenge for both users and app developers. Jan Sysmans, Mobile App Security Evangelist, at mobile security firm Appdome shares more.

However, in Appdome’s  2023 APAC Consumer Expectations of Mobile Security survey, more than half of the 75,000 respondents in 12 countries said that the responsibility to protect them lies with the brands behind mobile apps.
Clearly, consumers feel that businesses are not doing enough to protect them and want them to take greater responsibility.
Jan Sysmans, Mobile App Security Evangelist of Appdome explains why businesses should pay attention to what their customers are saying.
