Morning Shot: Is terrorism in Southeast Asia rearing its ugly head again?
Three attempted attacks - one successful - in the span of three days on public institutions in Malaysia earlier this month have raised a critical question about the rising threat of terror in wider Southeast Asia.
Investigations are still ongoing and it remains unclear whether the events were coordinated or independent of each other.
What were the potential motives for these attacks? How can we tackle this issue at the root and are present government measures effective enough to prevent such attacks from occurring?
On this episode of Morning Shot, Dr Kumar Ramakrishna, Professor of National Security Studies & Dean of S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, shares his insights.
