Food Playground is a Singapore based cooking school that gives back to their community by hiring stay at home moms and active seniors to teach their classes as well as handle many other business-related responsibilities. Founder Daniel Tan started this program in 2012 as a business with a ‘social mission’.

We speak to a social enterprise cooking school: Food Playground,which offers hands-on cultural cooking classes and corporate team building workshops, all of which are conducted by stay-at-home mothers facing barriers to meaningful employment in Singapore.Operating out of a pre-war heritage shophouse in Chinatown since 2012, they provide flexi-work employment opportunities to these women and empower them through structured training in storytelling, event management and customer service to develop them into proficient culinary instructors to conduct these cooking classes.
