In a surprise announcement on Monday, CapitaLand revealed a major restructuring plan to consolidate its fund management and lodging business into a new entity called CLIM, while privatising its development arm, which will become part of CLA Real Estate Holdings. Adrian Loh, Head of Research, UOB Kay Hian breaks down the mechanics of the demerger and shares how this will help unlock value for shareholders.
