Industry Insights: The future of retail at mass transit stations
Recently, Stellar Lifestyle, a business arm of SMRT and the largest managing agent of retail spaces in Singapore’s rail network, officially launched the Staytion Lifestyle Centre, a beauty and wellness-themed lifestyle centre that adds a variety of retail experiences to the station area, including food, health, and lifestyle, at Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, a new retail hub linked to nearby Plaza Singapura.
Is such experiences the future of retail at mass transit stations? How will transit ridership and a shift towards online shopping impact transit retail?
