Sustainable Singapore: Solving complex food waste problems with the help of insects
For most of us, flies are an annoyance, especially when they come near our food. However, a project in Singapore is looking at how food waste can be converted into nutrients for food production, with the help of the black soldier fly. On Sustainable Singapore, Rhianne Lovell-Boland speaks to Nalini Puniamoorthy, Assistant Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences at NUS who shares more on how black soldier flies can help reduce food waste, while also increase food production in a sustainable way.
