Across the ASEAN: Taking Stock of Singapore's 1Q Advanced GDP Figures
Despite economists surveyed by the MAS predicting an economic contraction for Singapore in the 1st quarter, advanced figures showed the country's GDP surprised to the upside, with growth of 0.2% year on year. Hak Bin Chua, Maybank Kim Eng's regional co-head of Macro Research, joined us on Across the ASEAN to discuss what he made of the figures, and how it may influence Maybank's economic outlook for Singapore.
